Idris Elba confirms that filming is now underway on the Luther movie – more details on the production right this way.
After a long period of time where rumours of a Luther film kept coming and going, production is now on the way on the feature length spin-off.
Penned by Neil Cross, the movie of Luther is being directed by Jamie Payne, and of course Idris Elba reprises the title role for the film. Joining him in the cast for this one are Cynthia Erivo and Andy Serkis.
The film is being co-produced by the BBC and Netflix, and thus it’s likely to debut on the latter rather than on cinema screens. But for the purposes of here and now, the news is that production is finally underway on the feature.
