With Insidious: The Red Door hitting cinemas in July, the sixth instalment is coming together, here are the details.
Patrick Wilson makes his directorial debut with the upcoming fifth installment of the Insidious franchise, The Red Door (pictured), which is written by Scott Teems from a story by franchise creator Leigh Whannell.
Wilson is also reprising the role of Josh Lambert, alongside Rose Byrne as Renai Lambert and Ty Simpkins as their troubled child (now a teenager), Dalton.
A sixth chapter, not a direct sequel but set in the same world, is to be called Thread: An Insidious Tale. It will tell the story “of a husband and wife (Kumail Nanjiani and Mandy Moore) who enlist the help of a spell to travel back in time, such that they can prevent the death of their young daughter. The consequences, of course, prove to be severe”.
So far, Nanjiani and Moore and the only confirmed cast members, with Moon Knight’s Jeremy Slater writing and directing.
Insidious: The Red Door is set to be released in UK cinemas on 7th July.
