Bethesda and Arkane Lyon have announced that they’re working on Marvel’s Blade, a third-person, single-player game based on the moody vampire hunter.

Not only is Marvel working on a feature film based on the vampire hunter, but Bethesda and Arkane Lyon are also working to bring the moody Blade to life in his own video game.

The project was announced at last night’s The Game Awards, where Baldur’s Gate 3 was named Game Of The Year as expected. On X, Bethesda described Marvel’s Blade as “a mature, single-player, third-person game set in the heart of Paris.”

There was a short teaser for the game as well.

The trailer shows the titular vampire hunter, also known as Eric Brooks, getting a shave at a Paris barbershop just as the sun is setting and an announcement urges residents to take shelter. “The night’s just getting started,” Blade muses as he suits up and pulls out his signature sword.

And here’s the synopsis as well: “Marvel’s Blade game will take players to a quarantined section of Paris in the middle of a supernatural emergency. Vampires have emerged, terrorizing the city of lights and forcing Parisians to shelter inside their homes at night to wait for sunrise.”

Wesley Snipes played the vampire hunter in a trilogy of films in the 2000s but the character is set to be rebooted by Mahersala Ali. The film is set to premiere in 2025, but the production has been plagued by delays and constant rewrites, throwing its quality into question. Ali did speak to Entertainment Weekly recently, saying he felt “positively encouraged” by the direction of the project. We’re hoping the game has less production trouble than the Blade film.

Marvel announced that Arkane has just begun production on the game, so no release date for Marvel’s Blade as of yet, but we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
