Merry Little Batman sees the Caped Crusader headline his own animated Christmas Special, here’s the trailer.
Batman has dabbled in the festive season a few times to date, perhaps most notably in Tim Burton’s much-loved 1992 sequel Batman Returns (which, like Die Hard and Lethal Weapon, is absolutely a Christmas film. Please don’t write in).
Now though, he’s headlining his own animated Christmas Special, Merry Little Batman. And it’s just under a month away.
The synopsis reads as follows:
This Christmas, Damian Wayne wants to be a Super Hero like his dad—the one and only Batman. When Damian is left home alone while Batman takes on Gotham’s worst Super-Villains on Christmas Eve, he stumbles upon a villainous plot to steal Christmas and leaps at the chance to save the day. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and based on characters from DC, Merry Little Batman features the voices of Yonas Kibreab, Luke Wilson, James Cromwell, and David Hornsby, and is directed by Mike Roth (Regular Show) from a screenplay by Morgan Evans (Teen Titans Go!) and Jase Ricci (Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham). Roth also serves as executive producer, alongside Sam Register (Looney Tunes Cartoons).
The voice cast includes Luke Wilson as Batman, Yonas Kibreab as Damian, David Hornsby as The Joker and James Cromwell as Alfred.
Regular Show writer Mike Roth directs from a script by Morgan Evans and Jase Ricci.
Merry Little Batman will stream on Amazon’s Prime Video service from the 8th December.
What’s more, the first trailer has landed to put you in a festive mood. It’s a miracle he doesn’t sing O Holy Night in this, which is as bad a festive Batman pun as we can come up. And we’d already rejected the dinner dinner one…
