Michael B Jordan will make his directorial debut with the third instalment in the Creed series, itās now been confirmed.
Michael B Jordan, star of the
Creed films, has sealed a deal with MGM to direct the third chapter of the series, itself an offshoot of the popular
Rocky boxing franchise. Whatās more, MGM has also revealed the release date of the film: 23rd November, 2022.
Jordanās stock is certainly high at the moment. He stars in the Tom Clancy action thriller
Without Remorse, releasing in April, which could be another franchise starter for the actor (even though Paramount sold the film to Amazon Prime Video). Also, rumours of him playing Superman just wonāt go away, having persisted for years now. Add to that, the actor will now have the opportunity to helm a major studio picture which he will also produce and star in. Itās an impressive rise indeed, especially if Jordan can bring the same presence to directing that he has to acting, with his standout performance in 2019ās
Just Mercy being criminally overlooked during that yearās award season.

All of which sets the table for this moment. This franchise and in particular the themes of
Creed III are deeply personal to me. I look forward to sharing the next chapter of Adonis Creedās story with the awesome responsibility of being its director and namesakeā.
The film is being scripted by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin based on a story treatment by Ryan Coogler.
Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad are expected to return although series stalwart, Sylvester Stallone has previously announced that
Creed II was the final appearance in the franchise for his character, the iconic Rocky Balboa. Still, like any ageing boxing legend, Stallone has brought the character out of retirement beforeā¦
