A new social impact comedy starring Kate Nash, Coffee Wars, will donate its proceeds to environmental and animal welfare charities.

Upcoming comedy Coffee Wars is a film that encourages all to be more environmentally conscious. It follows Jo, the owner of a vegan cafe played by actress and singer-songwriter Kate Nash, and her unpredictable colleagues as they enter the World Barista Championships. They set out to prove their vegan lattes are as good as anyone else’s, and to save their struggling cafe with the promised cash prize.

Also among the cast are Derry Girls’ Saorise-Monica Jackson, British actor Toby Sebastian and Owain Arthur, who had a leading role in Amazon’s The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power.

The movie aims to to use the “lens of comedy to shine a light on the devastating environmental impacts of dairy products and elevate plant-based alternatives as tasty, more sustainable substitutions worthy of award-winning lattes.”

Not only is it a film that sets out to raise awareness of the impact of dairy products, it will also aid the causes it’s passionate about. All proceeds from the movie will be donated to environmental and animal welfare charities.

Coffee Wars will be released on digital platforms – including iTunes, Amazon and Google Play – later this month.
