Animated sequel Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse continues Miles Morales’ journey – here’s the brand new trailer.

2018’s Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse was a groundbreaking animated film, and the sequel looks set to continue its work. A brand new trailer has been released, giving us a look at the astounding animation and a peek at where protagonist Miles Morales’ story will go next.

In the new trailer, it seems that Miles (voiced again by Shameik Moore) is having some very typical Spider-Man struggles. He’s trying to balance his home life and school with being a superhero, and we all know that never goes quite to plan.

When he’s approached by old friend Gwen Stacey (Hailee Steinfeld) to join the Spider-Force, an interdimensional group of Spider-People trying to save the multiverse from villain The Spot (Jason Schwartzman), he readily accepts.

It’s clear that he might be butting heads with some of them, though, as we also get a much better look at Oscar Isaac’s very stern Spider-Man 2099, who’s from a universe set in the future.

As well as getting a much better idea of the story, the trailer shows off the wonderful comic book-style art that characterised the first movie, as well as a good sense of humour.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson, while directing duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are producing and have co-written the script alongside David Callaham.

Here’s the trailer:

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse will be released in cinemas on 2nd June.
