The newest trailer for Scream VI teases a different kind of Ghostface – the slasher is released in cinemas on 10th March.

The newest film in the Scream franchise, Scream VI, sees characters from 2022’s Scream relocate to New York City. But they can’t escape their pasts, as a new Ghostface emerges. The movie also sees the return of directors Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin.

The newest trailer begins with a scene from the film where Ghostface follows Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barrera) and her sister Tara (Jenna Ortega) into a shop, killing the bystanders they ask for help from. It’s unlike Ghostface to attack in front of so many witnesses, and so the trailer teases a tougher incarnation of the killer.

This is a killer that seems to idolise the Ghostface character, and from what the trailer reveals no one is safe from him. Sam thinks the killer is after her because of her connection to Scream antagonist Billy Loomis, and Gale appears to be in for a tough time, too.

We also get a glimpse of Hayden Panettiere’s Kirby, returning after seemingly dying in Scream 4. Courteney Cox is also back as Gale Weathers, and Mason Gooding and Jasmine Savoy Brown return as twins Chad and Mindy Meeks-Martin. One notable new addition to the cast is Ready Or Not's Samara Weaving.
