We were sold at ‘haunted swimming pool’ but if you need more, catch your first glimpse of Blumhouse’s Night Swim right here.

When it was announced at the start of the year that James Wan’s production company Atomic Monster would be forming a partnership with Blumhouse Productions at Universal Pictures, one of the first collaborations they announced was Night Swim, a ‘supernatural thriller built around the hidden source of terror found in a backyard swimming pool.’

Yep, that’s right. It’s a haunted swimming pool movie.

The film is set for a  January 19th 2024 release under the Universal Pictures banner, with Wyatt Russell and Kerry Condon set to star. Russell will also be reappearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Thunderbolts as John Walker. Kondon meanwhile, will be appearing of the back of her highly-acclaimed turn in The Banshees Of Inisherin

The film will be helmed by Bryce McGuire. McGuire’s directorial credits so far include The White Room and Never Ever for Blumhouse. We don’t know yet if the haunted pool in question is going to be more ‘eaty-eaty’ or ‘spooky-spooky’ but we’re ready to dive in – arf – and find out, even if the film doesn’t release until January.

The trailer is below and we like this preview. Rather than show you bits from across the while film, it mostly just give you a little preview of one scene, allowing you to experience a little of the film’s tone. A trailer that doesn’t give too much away? It’ll never catch on.

We’ll bring you more on Night Swim as we hear it.
