Amy Adams believes she is slowly turning into a canine in Nightbitch, and hereās the trailer for the incoming movie.
Amy Adams has been nominated for an Academy Award six times ā for Junebug, Doubt, The Fighter, The Master, Vice and American Hustle. Itās something of an oversight that none of them were for her pitch perfect performance as Disney princess Giselle in 2007ās Enchanted, a role she reprises in 2022 sequel Disenchanted.
Her next role in the dark comedy horror Nightbitch has exactly the kind of one line elevator pitch premise that could attract attention come awards season ā a stressed mother begins to turn into a dog.
The synopsis reads as follows:
Nightbitch tells the story of a woman (Adams) thrown into the stay-at-home routine of raising a toddler in the suburbs, who slowly embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood, as she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre and undeniable signs that she may be turning into a canine.
The cast also includes Scoot MacNairy, Mary Holland, Jessica Harper, Zoë Chao, Ella Thomas, Stacey Swift, Archana Rajan, Adrienne Rose White, Darius De La Cruiz and Roslyn Gentle.
Can You Ever Forgive Me? filmmaker Marielle Heller ā weāll also take a moment here to say that her 2019 drama A Beautiful Day In The Neighbourhood is a beautiful film that is well worth watching if youāve never had the pleasure ā wrote and directed, adapted from Rachel Yogerās critically acclaimed 2021 debut novel of the same name. Adams also coāproduces through her production company Bond Pictures.
Amy Adamsā other upcoming films include ensemble drama At The Sea, featuring Murray Bartlett and Brett Goldstein, and sci-fi drama Klara And The Sun, in which she will star opposite Jenna Ortega.
Nightbitch will be released in December. The UK date has not been confirmed, weāll keep you updated as we hear more.
