A new take on Power Rangers is being set up at Paramount.
Plans are underway for another reboot of the Power Rangers on the big screen, after the 2017 movie failed to garner enough support at the box office.
Jonathan Entwistle, who created the TV show The End Of The F***ing World, is being hired by Paramount to develop a new take on the franchise. Paramount has stepped in after Lionsgate – that backed the 2017 movie – decided not to continue with the series. It had plans in place, along with Saban, for several sequels, but those plans were shelved when the box office tallies were counted u.
Now, though, Paramount has hired Patrick Turleigh – who penned the upcoming Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway – to write the script for the new film. Whether Entwistle chooses to stick with that screenplay remains to be seen. There’s still some way to go here, clearly, before another film lands. But we’ll keep you posted as we hear more…
