Prisoners Of The Ghostland trailer: Nicolas Cage and nuts

Nicolas Cage’s latest film since his last one is, genuinely, really quite something: here’s the trailer for Prisoners Of The Ghostland.

Here’s a new Nicolas Cage film for you, the first new Cage movie since (checks notes) this month’s Pig. Prisons Of The Ghostland actually debuted at the Sundance Film Festival early this year, and won plaudits for being the film where Cage shouts “testicles” at the screen.

On the one hand, it’s a film that’s basically Speed, but instead of a bus exploding if it drops below 50mph, Cage has explosives attached to his nether regions. Bill Moseley and Sofia Boutella co-star, but it’s also notable for being an English language feature from director Sion Sono, who brings real style to this one.

Here’s the trailer to give you a taste as to what’s in store…

The film is landing in the UK and US in September, and the synopsis reads as follows…

In the treacherous frontier city of Samurai Town, a ruthless bank robber is sprung from jail by a wealthy warlord, The Governor, whose adopted granddaughter has run away. Strapped into a leather suit that will self-destruct within five days if he doesn’t find the missing girl, the bandit sets off on a journey to find the young woman — and his own path to redemption.

It’s quite the movie this one. Do put it on your radar…
