Tenet and Batman star Robert Pattinson is collaborating with director Christopher Nolan again on the latter’s latest mystery film.
If the marketing folks at Universal managed to make Oppenheimer, a three hour biopic about a scientist one of the must-see films of last year, then they might have raised the bar again this time, as we eagerly await more information about Christopher Nolan’s next, mystery project.
First there were all the conflicting stories about the genre of Nolan’s latest film. Whether they were purposefully leaked or not, they ramped up anticipation for an official reveal… which never happened. So how do you continue to stoke that fire without releasing concrete story details? By slowly revealing a host of movie stars, with the latest name to be added to the project being Robert Pattinson.
Yes, the latest Batman will be joining the likes of Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o and Zendaya, not to mention reuniting with Nolan following their work together on Tenet. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pattinson joins the core ensemble which includes the aforementioned Damon, Holland and Hathaway, with Nyong’o and Zendaya taking on supporting roles.
Pattinson has Mickey 17 set for release next year, and has already wrapped production on Die, My Love (co-starring Jennifer Lawrence) for director Lynne Ramsay. He’ll also be shooting the The Batman Part II next year. He’s also currently working on The Drama, which will also feature Zendaya.
So far, we know little more about Nolan’s project other than its release date: 17th July 2026. One thing’s for sure, though: the Universal marketing team have played things to perfection so far and we’re all hanging on for the next reveal. When we hear of it, we’ll let you know.
