Will Ryan Gosling or Chris Evans triumph in upcoming action espionage battle of wills Gray Man? Who knows, but the cameras have started rolling.

The Russo Brothers’ next project has moved into the production phase, with the highly-anticipated Gray Man getting underway.

Set to launch on Netflix, with the date as yet unspecified, Gray Man is an action thriller featuring Ryan Gosling as a former CIA operator who has gone rogue and now plies his living as an elite assassin codenamed the Gray Man. Chris Evans plays his former colleague whose mission is to stop him.

The lead casting for this one is on the rather good side we’d suggest. Gosling does a very good stone-faced killer, but he might just have met his match in Evans who can kill a scene in knitwear alone. The supporting cast is promising too, with Rege-Jean Page, Ana de Armas, Billy Bob Thornton, Jessica Henwick, and Alfre Woodard all set to appear.

It’s expected that the film will launch a series for Netflix in the same fashion that the Charlize Theron-starring The Old Guard is planned to. The Russo Brothers’ most recent directorial offering, Cherry, starring another MCU alumnus, Tom Holland, hit Apple TV+ screens last week.

We’ll bring you more on Gray Man as we hear it.
