With the film less than a month away from general release, here’s the new trailer for the eagerly-anticipated Saltburn.

Emerald Fennell announced herself to the world as a movie writer and director back in 2020 with Promising Young Woman, a scintillating drama that became a ‘must-see movie’. Fennell bagged herself  the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay on the way to becoming a ‘must-watch’ filmmaker.

Her next film? Saltburn, although you likely knew that given that anticipation around this project has been building for some time now, stoked first by the casting of two young talents in the form of Barry Keoghan and Jacob Elordi.

Also, as well as featuring a reunion between Fennell and Promising Young Woman star Carey Mulligan, the cast also features Rosamund Pike,  Richard E Grant, Archie Madekwe and Alison Oliver.

The plot follows “student Oliver (Keoghan) who, struggling to find his place at Oxford University, finds himself drawn into the world of the charming and aristocratic Felix Catton (Elordi), who invites him to Saltburn, his eccentric family’s sprawling estate, for a summer never to be forgotten.”

The film has picked up a buzz on the festival circuit so far and we’re looking forward to Saltburn joining that canon of films about the darkness lurking at the periphery of the British class system.

Saltburn releases on November 17th. It’s backed by Amazon via its MGM studio (still feels weird writing that). And you can find the trailer lurking – if internet magic has worked – below these very words.

Don’t be surprised if Saltburn becomes part of this year’s awards race. We’ll have more on the movie in due course…
