Jack Black will be rocking out on the big screen again, as School Of Rock prepares to return to cinemas in the UK this September.

The problem with writing these news stories about films getting anniversary screenings is that some of us remember going out and watching the films when they were, well, ‘new’. Case in point? Richard Linklater’s most commercial successful film, the delightful family hit School Of Rock, which arrived on screens for the first time back in 2003.

It was a hit when it came out, and heck has it endured since. There’s been a spin-off successful stage musical too, regular anniversary events, and any excuse to get the soundtrack out too.

Bottom line: School Of Rock is now 20 years old, and some of us are quite old too. No matter if you’ve not had the pleasure on the big screen, though: Park Circus has revealed that it’ll be re-releasing the film in UK cinemas on Friday 8th September. A fitting way to mark a fitting birthday.

This won’t be on hundreds of screens, so may take some seeking out We’ll have a clearer idea of that closer to release date.
