The curious disappearance of Scoob! from the UK release schedules continues, as the film gets a disc release announcement in the UK.
This continues to be a puzzle. Back in May – it seems so long ago – Warner Bros released its planned theatrical animation Scoob! directly onto premium video on demand services. It did so after heavily advertising the theatrical release it had planned, but the closure of cinemas forced its hand somewhat.
The problem was that the film – a Scooby Doo origins story of sorts – was only released on demand in the US and Canada. In the UK, though? Diddly squat, The film came off the release schedules, but we didn’t get the on demand release.
Now comes the news that the film is being prepared for release on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD disc in the US this coming July, and yet still there’s nothing on the UK schedules. No on demand release, no cinema release, no disc release.
We’ll keep looking and trying to find out what’s happening. For the minute, if you want the disc, you need to be importing from America. You can find the listing for the film here.
