Bong Joon-Ho’s Snowpiercer is finally arriving on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK, seven years after its first release. Well, this has been a long, long time coming. As fans of director Bong Joon-Ho are only too aware, the film he released back in 2013 – Snowpiercer – has taken a long, long time to get any kind of UK distribution. The rights to the film were held by The Weinstein Company for a long time, and it didn’t put the film out in UK cinemas, nor was there even a disc release. Only in the last year or two has the movie come to Netflix in the UK, and cinemas have been able to put on occasional showings. That they’ve certainly been doing in the aftermath of director Bong’s Oscar-winning Parasite. Now, finally, the rights have been acquired to put the film out on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK, with Lionsgate announcing a May 25th release for the film. Furthermore, the Blu-ray edition will come with extra features too, and these are currently listed as: Transperceniege: From the Blank Page to the Blank Screen Chris Evans and Tilda Swinton on Snowpiercer The Birth of Snowpiercer The End of the World, and the New Beginning (animated prologue) Characters   It looks as though the DVD edition won’t have the extras. The film will be going up for preorder in the coming weeks. In the meantime, here’s a glimpse of the UK box art… Thank you for visiting! If you’d like to support our attempts to make a non-clickbaity movie website: Follow Film Stories on Twitter here, and on Facebook here.
