The new trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has arrived ahead of Peter Parker’s return to cinemas this summer.
Update: There’s been much debate over the past year or two as to whether we’ve passed the Peak Superhero era, but one thing’s for sure: audiences still want to see more Spider-Man movies. Or at least, they’re flocking to watch Spider-Man movie trailers.
Released a matter of hours ago, the latest promo for Spider-Man: Brand New Day (see below) has amassed over seven million views and counting as these words are being typed.
The previous film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, was an absolute box office monster, making almost $2bn in 2021. It’s possible that Brand New Day will do similar numbers, if the sense of anticipation is anything to go by. This will please Sony and Marvel, since this is the first in a planned new trilogy featuring an older, wiser Peter Parker (Tom Holland).
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is due for release on the 31st July 2026.

18th March 2026: Somehow we’ve had trailers for Avengers: Doomsday and Dune Part III before Destin Daniel Cretton’s new Spider-Man film which hits cinemas several months before the two big blockbusters mentioned.

Tom Holland is back as Peter Parker and Zendaya will once again play Peter’s girlfriend MJ and Jacob Batalon will play his best friend Ned.
Wait, that’s wrong. Zendaya will play Peter’s former girlfriend MJ and Jacob Batalon is his former best friend Ned. Neither of them remembers Peter after Dr. Strange erased Peter from everyone’s memory at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

There’s a very quick peek at Sadie Sink’s new character and Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner is also back as is Frank Grillo’s The Punisher, but the trailer’s focus is on something else and much more intriguing.
It seems that our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is going through some very big changes and Banner tells Peter his DNA is mutating. Could this mean Peter will finally have the webs coming from his wrists like Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man?
Holland’s Spider-Man also gets a new, comic accurate suit this time around and director Cretton has previously promised that this film would be tonally different to the previous Tom Holland Spider-Man films and it does seem that this version not only includes our favourite hero all-grown up but heavier themes.
