Super Crazy Rhythm Castle mashes up musical action and Overcooked-style co-op mayhem. Itās out soon from British studio Second Impact Games and publisher Konami.
āBecome one with the music and the madness,ā reads the announcement for Super Crazy Rhythm Castle, an upcoming rhythm-action game that places its emphasis on co-op multiplayer action.
Unlike the comparatively straight-faced Guitar Hero, then, Super Crazy Rhythm Castle offers up a variety of musical, timing-based mini-games that take in sentient aubergines, sushi train restaurants and animals firing laser guns.
In development at Brighton-based indie studio Second Impact Games, Rhythm Castle will see up to four players team up to take on its various challenges, which can be tailored depending on your level of skill. āNot a pro at rhythm games?ā the release continues. āEach player can play their music in three-button or four-button mode ā or hop out to focus on puzzling while your buddy covers the music!ā
Out āsoonā, the game will be published by Konami, a company that seems to be upping its output again after a period of years where its interests lay in pachinko machines, casinos and mobile games. In late 2022, Konami announced a raft of new Silent Hill projects; this April, the company unveiled a new, āmajor production centreā in Osaka, with another studio set to open in Tokyo by 2025.
This October sees the release of the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection, which gathers together several of Konamiās iconic stealth titles in one bundle, and thereās also the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater on the way, entitled Metal Gear Solid Delta.
That Konami is also supporting smaller indies like Second Impact is surely an encouraging.
Super Crazy Rhythm Castle is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch in both physical and digital flavours.
