Warner Bros has been dishing out release dates to the likes of Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow and Mortal Kombat 2.
Warner Bros has officially dated several projects that we’ve heard plenty about, giving film fans dates for their diaries.
First up, there’s Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow. That film now has an announced release date of June 26th 2026. House Of The Dragon's Milly Alcock stars in the title role in the film and Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow will mark the second official film in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Universe of movies.
The first film is of course Superman: Legacy which is set to release in the summer of 2025.
We’ve previously heard noises that this version of the character is going to be harder-edged than previous screen incarnations of the Supergirl character.
Next up, a film for late 2025. Mortal Kombat 2 has been dated for October 24th 2025. Production on that one recently wrapped in Australia. Karl Urban is in the mix this time, starring as Johnny Cage who was always the best character to pick in the video game, not least because he could stylishly punch other fighters in their nether regions. For that reason alone, we’ll be checking out the film in IMAX (yes, it’s getting an IMAX release) so we can see Urban punch people in their vulnerable bits on the largest screen imaginable.
Next up, we also finally have a release date for Weapons. That’s the next horror film from Zach Cregger, the filmmaker behind 2022’s Barbarian. That movie was seen as something of an breakthrough, sparking plenty of interest in acquiring Cregger’s next project. New Line Cinema was able to do that and it looks like Cregger will be getting a lot of creative freedom with Weapons, which has been described as a multi-story horror opus in the style of Paul Thomas Anderson’s Magnolia.
When’s that one coming, you ask? January 16th 2026.
Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams and Benedict Wong are all set to star.
Also coming from Warner Bros’ New Line imprint is the sci-fi thriller, Companion. Drew Hancock directs the film which hails from the same creative team as the folks behind Barbarian. That one has reportedly set a January 10th 2025 release.
So there you go. We’ll bring you more release updates as we hear them.
