Scream 6 brings the slasher franchise to New York City, and the first trailer for the new sequel has arrived.
With Scream 5 focusing on modern horror tropes like the ‘requel’, fans are eager to see what the new instalment will bring to the table.
Scream 6 will see surviving characters – sisters Samantha and Tara Carpenter and twins Chad and Mindy Meeks – relocate from Woodsboro New York City, where they are plagued by a new Ghostface killer. It isn’t the first time a long running horror franchise has moved to an urban area, with Jason Takes Manhattan and Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood.
Though franchise stalwart Neve Campbell will not be returning, Courtney Cox is back as intrepid reporter Gale Weathers, alongside familiar faces Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, Hayden Panettiere. Cast members new to the franchise include Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving.
The Radio Silence team of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are back behind the camera from Scream 5, directing from a screenplay by Guy Busick and James Vanderbilt.
