With Terrifier 3 landing in October, you can catch Terrifier and Terrifier 2 in UK cinemas this September: more details here.
Damien Leone’s Terrifier films have achieved the goal that many horror movie creators dream of: low budget, independent movies, that cracked the box office. Terrifier 2, made for around $250,000, broke into the top ten in the US, and earned over $15m on its initial cinema run. On home services, both the 2016 original and the 2022 sequel have turned into very profitable hits.
This autumn, we get the scaled-up Terrifier 3, as Leone has more money to spend, although his film will still be on the lean side. His tale of the kind of clown you don’t want to mess with extends with chapter three, made for around $2m and due in cinemas in October.
Ahead of that though is a very rare opportunity to see the first two films on a UK cinema screen. In the case of the original Terrifier, this has never had a wide UK cinema release before.
On 27th September, for one night only, distributor Signature Entertainment has confirmed that it’ll be unleashing a double bill of Terrifier and Terrifier 2 into UK and Irish cinemas, and that this will be a wide release too.
To mark the occasion, Signature has put together a special trailer, and it looks very much like this…
David Howard Thornton takes the lead as Art the Clown, and without wishing to spoil anything, he’s not the kind of clown you particularly want to mess with.
The UK release date for Terrifier 3 has been confirmed as 11th October 2024, in line with its UK bow. That too is getting what looks like a wide cinema release, and we’ll have more on that in due course.
Expect tickets for the Terrifier double bill to start going on sale shortly…
