Glasgow is to become Gotham City in February, it’s been revealed.
Production is now underway on the return of Batman to the big screen, with Robert Pattinson this time around taking on the cape and cowl. Filming has been taking place in London over the past week, and the UK is set to be the base for the production.
Whilst Warner Bros hasn’t yet issued an official start of production announcement to give clues as to where else the Caped Crusader will be travelling for his latest film, the Daily Record has revealed that Scotland is on his travel list.
The Batman, for that is what the movie is called, will be shooting Glasgow in February, it reports. And in fact parts of the city will be dressed to look like Gotham City.
The report also reckons that the new Batmobile will be on show when the production heads to the city, with location filming set for Glasgow’s streets. Expect no shortage of cameraphone footage when it arrives.
The movie is due in cinemas in the summer of 2021, with Matt Reeves directing. More news as we hear it.
