Denzel Washington will be bringing his brand of vengeance to DVD, Blu-ray and 4K disc in the UK this December with The Equalizer 3: plus a triple pack, too.

Denzel Washington had never actually tackled a sequel to one of his movies until The Equalizer came along. Based (loosely) on the TV series of the same name, Washington rejoined forces with director Antoine Fuqua for the first film, the pair staying on board for both the immediate follow-up and this year’s The Equalizer 3.

And, as with the previous films, The Equalizer 3 has turned out to be a late summer/early autumn hit, that’s likely to repeat its success when it makes its way to its home release. It’s already available, at the time of writing, via premium video on demand (for that read: expensive video on demand). But Sony has also confirmed a physical media release for the end of the year too.

The film will hit on December 4th 2023 on DVD, Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and a limited edition 4K Steelbook too (the Steelbook pops up a week later, on the 11th).

Furthermore, as you might expect, the good old fashioned boxset is toddling along at the same time. A collection that brings together The Equalizer, The Equalizer 2 and – yes! – The Equalizer 3 will be released on the same day. That’s going to be available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray.

All of these are available right now to preorder, and if you’re unfamiliar with the classy action fest that the third movie became, then its synopsis reads as follows…

Ex-assassin Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) seeks UK redemption through vigilante justice. Finding himself surprisingly at home in Southern Italy, he discovers his new friends are under the control of local crime bosses. As events turn deadly, McCall knows what he has to do: become his friends’ protector by taking on the mafia.

No news sadly on any extra features on The Equalizer 3’s home release. There may be some, it’s just nobody’s telling at the moment. Worth keeping an eye on the listing, just in case…
