William Friedkin’s The Exorcist is 50 years old – and is arriving on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in the UK this October.

It’s been a rumoured release for most of the year, but now it’s confirmed: Warner Bros is bringing The Exorcist to the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc format.

It’s a celebration of two different things going on here. On the one hand, Warner Bros is 100 years old. On the other, The Exorcist is 50 years old. Hence, a 4K remaster and a re-release too.

We don’t have details of extra features as of yet, but we do know that the UK 4K release will also come with a Blu-ray in the box as well. It seems to thus make sense that the previous features will be ported over as part of the deal.

The new release is up for preorder now, with a 9th October release date. You can find more information, and order a copy, right here.
