Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb is hustling his way through Gotham again. Take a look at the new The Penguin trailer.
The final days of the San Diego Comic-Con gave us more news than we could process, especially when it came to Marvel. You can read all about their latest shenanigans over here.
While Kevin Feige’s big announcements might have taken the spotlight, the Marvel panel was preceded by The Penguin panel, which saw Matt Reeves and his stars ā minus Colin Farrell who joined via video ā take the stage to chat all about their upcoming TV series focusing on The Batman villain. During it, HBO released a brand new trailer for The Penguin.
Take a look at the new The Penguin trailer below.
We learned last week that The Penguin will act as a “bridge” between The Batman and The Batman Part II, which is set to start filming this December. The Penguin’s events will take place a week after The Batman and will follow the titular villain as he gains more power in Gotham, which is currently experiencing a crime boss vacancy.
“You promised me, Oswald,” The Penguin’s mother says in the trailer. “I deserve a better life.”
Farrell’s Cobb promises he’s working on it but something tells us he doesn’t mean an all-inclusive holiday to Centre Parcs, but we could be wrong.
The trailer also introduces us to Cristina Milioti’s Sofia Falcone, aka The Hangman, who has just completed a stint at Arkham. The conflict will no doubt focus on the two crime families battling it out on the dark alleys of Gotham.
The Penguin is now confirmed to be released on Max in the US on 19th September. The series will consist of eight weekly episodes. In the UK, Sky will be airing the series and it’s confirmed to start in September, but no firm release date yet. We can’t imagine it’ll be too far behind that US date, but we’ll make sure to let you know.
