Succession star Jeremy Strong might be heading to Silicon Valley as he’s in talks to play a significant role in The Social Network Part II.

David Fincher’s The Social Network doesn’t immediately strike as a film likely to get a sequel, but here we are. Aaron Sorkin, who won an Oscar for the script for David Fincher’s original, is set to write and direct The Social Network Part II, which will follow Facebook’s later years.

The Hollywood Reporter now reports that Jeremy Strong of Succession fame is circling a role in the film. The outlet mentions that he could very well be in talks to star as Zuckerberg himself, but nothing official has been announced. Zuckerberg was portrayed by Jesse Eisenberg in the first film and the actor earned an Oscar nomination for it, too.

The new film will be based on Jeff Horowitz’s series of articles, known as The Facebook Files, published by The Wall Street Journal. The Social Network Part II will look at Facebook’s harmful effect on teens, the misinformation spread on the platform and how it contributed to the events of 6th January, 2021 when the supporters of Donald Trump protested the 2020 election results.

The news of Strong’s potential role comes just a day after we reported that Jeremy Allen White and Mikey Madison were also in talks for roles. No official offers have been made, but The Social Network Part II is definitely shaping up to be an intriguing one.

We’ll keep you updated.
