Tiffany Haddish is set to play a rogue government agent against Nicolas Cage playing a fictionalised version of Nicolas Cage.
Shooting is set to begin on The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent this autumn, starring Nicolas Cage as an actor who upon accepting $1 million to attend the birthday party of a super fan (who also happens to be a criminal kingpin) must adopt his many iconic on-screen roles to survive.
If it all sounds like incredible fun in a meta-textual type of way, the project has been given a further boost by the appointment of the wonderful Tiffany Haddish, most recently star of Like A Boss.
Dark Horizons is reporting that Haddish has joined the project alongside Cage and Pedro Pascal, who will play the criminal overlord. It’s certainly a fun cast and that’s before you even consider the joy that is sure to be Nic Cage wildly lampooning himself.
The script is written by Tom Gornican (That Awkward Moment) who will also direct and we would hope to see it arrive at some point next year. More on this one as we have it.
