Andrea Riseborough’s Oscar nomination results in the film To Leslie’s return to cinemas in the UK and US.

To Leslie, the little-seen film starring Andrea Riseborough, will be returning to UK cinemas following the actor’s surprise Oscar nod for Best Actress. The film earned $27,322 during its initial run in the US, but has found its profile significantly boosted by the surprise nomination.

Whilst its return to US cinemas is very small and limited to a handful of screens, we’re yet to see how wide the UK release will be when the film is re-released here next weekend. The film is about ‘an alcoholic from West Texas who tries to get her life back on track after squandering Lottery winnings.’

Riseborough’s work has been hugely respected by her peers for years, and that has eventually borne fruit, with several high-profile actors launching a campaign for her to get an Oscar nod, which she duly did, entering the fray as a shock nomination.

According to Screen Daily, a host of other awards-nominated films are also looking at UK re-releases ‘including Warner Bros’ Elvis, Focus Features’ Tár, and Orion/MGM’s Women Talking’. We’ll bring you more details on any films returning to UK box offices as and when we hear them.
