Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell star in Spirited – and the first trailer for the film has landed.
If we had a penny for every time Will Ferrell played a man who tries to convince a cynic about the power of Christmas, we’d have two pennies, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
Spirited delivers a fresh twist on Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The official synopsis reads as follows:
Each Christmas Eve, the Ghost of Christmas Present selects one dark soul to be reformed by a visit from three spirits. But this season, he picked the wrong Scrooge. Clint Briggs turns the tables on his ghostly host until Present finds himself re-examining his own past, present and future. For the first time, “A Christmas Carol” is told from the perspective of the ghosts in this hilarious musical twist on the classic Dickens tale..
Will Ferrell plays the various spirits opposite Ryan Reynolds as Clint Briggs, with the two stars also acting as producers. Octavia Spencer, Sunita Mani, Patrick Page, Aimee Carrero, Marlow Barkley, Jen Tullock, Loren G. Woods, Joe Tippett and P.J Byrne co-star.
Daddy’s Home director Sean Anders helmed the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with regular collaborator John Morris.
Spirited will be released on the 18th November via Apple TV+. Watch the trailer below:
