Cutting edge high school comedy Bottoms arrives in August, and here’s the trailer for the new film.

With films like Booksmart and TV shows like Sex Education, LGBTQ representation onscreen has come on quite some way in recent times. Some distance still to go, but clear strides have been made. Now comes a big, broad comedy to add to the mix.

Bottoms takes a contemporary approach to the high school comedy. The synopsis reads as follows:

Bottoms follows two unpopular girls (Rachel Sennott & Ayo Edebiri) in their senior year who start a fight club to try to impress and hook up with cheerleaders before graduation.

Completing the ensemble are Havana Rose Liu, Nicholas Galitzine, Miles Fowler, and Marshawn Lynch.

Emma Seligman directs from a screenplay she co-wrote with star Sennott. Elizabeth Banks is amongst the producers.

Bottoms will be released on 25th August. Watch the explicit trailer below…
