Nicolas Cage plays a dapper but dangerous carjacker in Sympathy For The Devil, and Joel Kinnaman is his victim – here’s the trailer.

Cage looks good as a redhead in the trailer for his new thriller, which is released in cinemas and on digital platforms on 28th July.

Co-starring The Suicide Squad's Joel Kinnaman as an unsuspecting ordinary guy on the way to see his wife giving birth in the hospital, Sympathy For The Devil sees Cage hold him at gunpoint and take him on a violent and unhinged journey.

Directing the film is Yuval Adler, who helmed the 2020 thriller The Secrets We Keep, which starred Noomi Rapace and Chris Messina.

The movie is described as a psychological horror, and from the trailer it looks as though events will escalate quite dramatically as Kinnaman’s character looks for ways to outwit or out-muscle his captor.

Most exciting, though, is Cage going full Cage in a role he clearly knows he can get a bit crazy with. It seems there are a few twists and turns in Luke Paradise’s script, too. We’ll have to piece together what’s really going on.

Sympathy For The Devil is released in cinemas and on digital platforms on 28th July. But I think you’re going to want to watch this one in a cinema.
