The full trailer has been released for The Munsters, directed by Rob Zombie – and it certainly looks campy and colourful. Rob Zombie’s The Munsters now has a full trailer. After seeing a fun, but short, teaser last month, this preview is claiming that the film will be ‘the greatest love story ever told’. Bringing the characters of the beloved sitcom to life in full and vivid colour, the trailer shows the creation of Herman Munster (played by Jeff Daniel Phillips). Where the show focused on family’s day-to-day family life, Zombie’s adaptation is clearly going back to the beginning of the story. The main focus of the trailer is Herman’s attempts to court the beautiful Lily (Sheri Moon Zombie), while Grandpa (a character otherwise known as Count Dracula and played by Daniel Roebuck) decides to get rid of him. Visually, this very much looks to be leaning into the campiness of the original series, and also playfully imitates the look of a show with a low production budget. Here’s the trailer – Despite being known for his horror films such as Halloween (2007) and 3 From Hell, Zombie has said that The Munsters will be PG rated and not as violent as his previous movies. The Munsters doesn’t have an exact release date yet, but will come out in September. The film’s getting a theatrical release as well as streaming on Peacock. — Thank you for visiting! If you’d like to support our attempts to make a non-clickbaity movie website: Follow Film Stories on Twitter here, and on Facebook here.
