This looks fun! Hannah John-Kamen leads the ensemble of Unwelcome ā€“ and hereā€™s the first trailer for a 2022 movie treat. Have you ever seen the horror comedy Grabbers? Not enough people have, and it’s an absolute joy of a movie. Its director, Jon Wright, hasn’t really been back near the genre since, which makes the upcoming Unwelcome a very, well, welcome prospect indeed. It’s penned by Mark Stay, and boasts a cast headlined by Hannah John-Kamen, Douglas Booth, Colm Meaney, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Niamh Cusack, Kristian Nairn and Chris Walley. Backed by Warner Bros, it’s heading into UK cinemas in 2022. We don’t have an exact release date yet, but we absolutely do have the first trailer. And it looks like this… The synopsis reads as follows… UNWELCOME stars Hannah John-Kamen and Douglas Booth as a couple who escape their urban nightmare to the tranquility of rural Ireland only to discover malevolent, murderous goblins lurking in the gnarled, ancient wood at the foot of their new garden. Additional cast include Golden Globe nominee Colm Meaney, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Chris Walley and Kristian Nairn. Directed by Jon Wright, the film is based on an original screenplay by Mark Stay. The film has also reunited the Grabbers creature team; including prosthetics by Shaune Harrison who has worked on some of the world’s highest grossing blockbusters including the Harry Potter films, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and Avengers: Age of Ultron along with creature designs by Paul Catling (Maleficent, Thor, Fantastic Beasts) and longtime Wright collaborator VFX supervisor Paddy Eason (28 Weeks Later, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Grabbers). And we’ll have a lot more, hopefully, closer to its release. ā€” Thank you for visiting! If youā€™d like to support our attempts to make a non-clickbaity movie website: Follow Film Stories on Twitter here, and on Facebook here.
