Vanessa Hudgens & James Marsden will star in My Little Pony: A New Generation, the franchise reboot headed to Netflix. Vanessa Hudgens (The Princess Switch) and James Marsden (Sonic the Hedgehog) are headed to Equestria for new film My Little Pony: A New Generation. Following the end of the successful My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic franchise which spawned 9 seasons, a spin-off franchise (Equestria Girls, which spawned multiple small screen movies) and a feature length film of itā€™s own, Hasbro are ready to reboot the franchise with fresh names and faces. Variety have shared the films plot, which will introduce us to new heroes like Hudgensā€™ Sunny Starscout. The unimaginable has happened…Equestria has lost its magic! Earth Ponies, Unicorns and Pegasi are no longer friends and now live separated by species. But idealistic Earth Pony Sunny (Vanessa Hudgens) is determined to find a way to bring enchantment and unity back to their world. Teaming up with open-hearted Unicorn Izzy (Kimiko Glenn), the pair travel to faraway lands where they encounter the likes of charismatic and brave Pegasi Pipp (Sofia Carson) and Zipp (Liza Koshy) and the ever-responsible fellow Earth Pony Hitch (Marsden). Their mission is full of misadventures, but these new best friends each possess their own unique and special gifts that may be just what this pony-verse needs to restore magic and prove that even little ponies can make a big difference. The film was originally in development with Paramount Pictures before a covid-led switch to Netflix. My Little Pony: A New Generation is headed to Netflix on the 24th September. Toy lines sure to follow shortly!   ā€” Thank you for visiting! If youā€™d like to support our attempts to make a non-clickbaity movie website: Follow Film Stories on Twitter here, and on Facebook here.
