Pre-production work has begun on Venom 3, and Tom Hardy has posted a brief update about the upcoming film.
No real surprise this, given that the first two Venom movies have made lots of money for Sony, and done star Tom Hardy’s career some good too. Still, the news of a Venom 3 was expected, and the film is duly happening.
Looks like it’s shaping up to move soon too, if Hardy’s Instagram account is anything to go by. He’s popped a post up there that declares he’s working on Venom 3 pre-prep at this stage. That falls in line with the expectation that the movie would shoot this year, and it’ll be in cinemas in 2024.
Once again, the directorial baton has been passed over for the new film. Ruben Fleischer helmed the first, Andy Serkis took the controls of the second. Now? Kelly Marcel, who’s been scripting or co-scripting the films will be stepping behind the camera for her directorial debut.
