Viola Davis will produce and star as the President of the United States in thriller G20, and here are the first details.
‘President vs terrorists’ is quickly becoming its own action subgenre. From Harrison Ford’s stoic turn in Wolfgang Petersen’s Air Force One to Gerard Butler protecting Aaron Eckhart in Antoine Fuqua’s ‘Die Hard in the White House’ actioner Olympus Has Fallen and, from the same year, Channing Tatum protecting Jamie Foxx in Roland Emmerich’s White House Down.
Now, Viola Davis is throwing her hat into the ring with G20. The plot will see “terrorists overtake the G20 Summit, with American President Taylor Sutton then bringing all her statecraft and military experience to defend her family, her fellow leaders and the world.
Davis will play President Sutton, with other cast members yet to be announced.
The 33 director Patricia Riggen helms the film from a screenplay by Noah and Logan Miller.
G20 will begin production soon, to be released through Amazon Prime Video, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
