Spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War lie ahead
Ever since Marvel extended the MCU into television series, they have divided critics and fans, although praise has often been given to shows like Wandavision, which told its story in a way Marvel hadn’t attempted before.
Disney+ has confirmed that Paul Bettany will reprise his role to lead Vision. The character was killed by Thanos in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War and later returned in WandaVision.
The series has been in development since 2022. According to Deadline, the series will follow Vision as he tries to regain his memory and humanity, While the focus is on Vision’s story, there is also the possibility of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) to appear, which would make sense given how interconnected the two characters’ stories are in the MCU. Wandavision also introduced White Vision, which was was created by S.W.O.R.D, who rebuilt and reactivated Vision’s body and sent him on a mission to destroy Wanda and her “Conditional” Vision.
Vision is one of the most powerful Avengers, being one of the few who can lift Thor’s hammer
Star Trek: Picard executive producer and 12 Monkeys creator Terry Matalas will serve as showrunner. No other casting has been confirmed.
We’re now well into Phase Five of the MCU, the next film is Shawn Levy’s much anticipated Deadpool & Wolverine, which will see Hugh Jackman reprise his iconic role opposite Ryan Reynolds. Written by regular writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick with Reynolds and Zeb Wells, the film will be released in UK cinemas on the 26th July.
The next television series will see Katherine Hahn reprise her Wandavision role of Agatha Harkness in Agatha All Along, which also stars Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Debra Jo Rupp, and Miles Gutierrez-Riley. Jac Schaeffer created the series.
