Students at Winchester University have put together a selection of animated and live-action horror shorts for a film festival in the city next month.

Occupying The Vault on 9th May from 6pm-9pm, the event is running as part of Winchester’s Film Production undergraduate course, which added a Festivals module this year for the first time.

Selections include Death And The Winemaker, an animated short written and directed by Victor Jaquier which sees a young winemaker create a vintage so exquisite even Death demands a taste, and time travel horror You Might Get Lost – the only feature-length film at the festival.

Tickets (and here’s the particularly ear-pricking bit) are free, and are available from the Cults Film Festival Website.

Film Production lecturer Jake Hawkins, said: “[The students] have faced challenges along the way but they have overcome these and maintained a really professional ethic throughout. As module leader I am personally extremely proud of all of them and what they have achieved so far.”

All lovely, positive-sounding stuff. You can register for tickets here, and check out Winchester’s Film Production course here.
