Get ready for a big night in ā Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy is heading to home video. More belowā¦
The Bridget Jones franchise, for whatever reason, has always felt very at home on home video. Something about its 2000s-ness just doesnāt feel right at home without the high-pitched whine of a disc in a slightly knackered DVD player.
Weāre happy to say, then, that Jones is making a triumphant return to the small screen on 2nd June, when the UK-region Blu-ray and DVD packages go on sale. No steelbook or 4K version for now, though ā Bridget will have to make do with the basics.
Check out the Amazon Blu-ray listing here.
Whether you like your disc boxes in blue or whatever colour theyāve gone with for the DVD (pictures suggest a tasteful translucent grey), youāll get the same four bonus features with each version, it seems:
- Deleted Scenes
- Back to Bridget
- Bridget 4.0 ā The Making Of
- Mad About the Boys
Mad About The Boy is currently 2025ās second-highest grossing film in the UK at £46m, behind only Warner Brosā videogame goliath The Minecraft Movie (£52m). The film controversially skipped cinemas entirely in the US, with its straight-to-streaming release on Peacock heightening fears the flickās international box office could take a hit from pesky pirates (in the UK at least, this doesnāt seem to have happened).
In our review, we called Bridgetās fourth outing āone of the best major rom-coms to come out of the UK in yearsā, and cried a lot while writing it. Weāre slightly dreading the emotional toll of watching it again at home, if weāre honest.
