Ben Wheatley’s new film – In The Earth – was shot in the middle of the pandemic, and you can catch a first glimpse of it right here.
Happily, some details about Ben Wheatley’s next film, In The Earth, have been released to accompany the release of a brief teaser for the project.
Whilst there’s little to go on yet, a return to the darker, trippier style of A Field In England and Kill List looks to be the direction for Wheatley, perhaps something of a palette cleanser for the filmmaker before he shoots the big budget The Meg sequel for Warner Bros.
The story for Into The Earth seems topical indeed: as a virus ravages the world, a desperate search for a cure continues. In the midst of this, a scientist and a scout, on a routine kit run, found themselves drawn into ‘the heart of darkness itself as the forest comes to life around them.’
We can’t wait.
The film features Joel Fry, Ellora Torchia, Hayley Squires and Reece Shearsmith.
You can check out the short teaser below. More details on this one as we hear them.
