Christopher Nolan’s 2026 movie brings Anne Hathaway and Zendaya on board, joining Tom Holland and Matt Damon.
Christopher Nolan’s 2026 movie is set to go before cameras early next year, and as it stands, we still have no idea what to expect. Well, that’s not exactly right. We have plenty of ideas, thanks to the ceaseless turning of the rumour mill, but we have no confirmed details apart from casting. However, the list of names involved with Nolan’s next film continues to grow, with a fresh announcement (via Deadline) revealing that Anne Hathaway and Zendaya will be joining the already-announced Matt Damon and Tom Holland.
That’s quite an ensemble already, and should it follow in the usual mould of Nolan projects, more big names will surely follow.
Like Damon, Hathaway is a returning player for Nolan, having collaborated with him previously on Interstellar and The Dark Knight Rises. Zendaya joins Holland in working with the director for the very first time, hot off the back of a successful 12 months in which she has made a splash in both blockbuster and drama. She’s starred in two hugely acclaimed films: Dune: Part Two and Challengers. Hathaway appeared this year in the thriller Mother’s Instinct and romantic drama The Idea Of You.

If there tends to be one enduring criticism of Nolan films, it’s that female characters in his movies can often feel somewhat underdeveloped, so we’re hoping that the twin talents of Hathaway and Zendaya are an indication that this is something that will be addressed in Nolan’s upcoming film, whatever it might be.
Ah, yes. Whatever it might be.
As we mentioned above, the rumour mill has been working overtime of late, spitting out some wild reports about Nolan’s next project. We’ve heard from different sources that it’s going to be a period vampire movie, a helicopter cop movie, a spy movie, a father/son movie and they can’t all be right, surely? (Although that would make for a wild ride, wouldn’t it?)
There’s one more nugget of information contained in the Deadline report which states ‘sources note that loglines or descriptions of the film that have been published to date are wrong’. So there you go, unless this is purposeful misdirection from Nolan’s shadowy agents, we’re still no wiser as to what the film could be about.
Doesn’t look like we’ll be getting that Blue Thunder movie after all.
When we do hear more though, we’ll certainly let you know.
