Don’t expect any streaming musicals or concerts from The Shows Must Go On for the next few weeks.

For the best part of nearly a year, The Shows Must Go On YouTube channel has been trying to plug the gap left by theatres around the UK being closed. It’s done so by making available for free a series of shows and concerts each weekend, all on its YouTube channel.

Originally launched by Andrew Lloyd Webber, the shows in questions were unlocked on a Friday evening and made available for 48 hours usually. And they’ve proven to be quite the success.

Following the absence of a new show recently though, it’s been revealed that The Shows Must Go On is taking a short break over the coming weeks. The programme of shows will be returning, and an announcement on what’s happening next will be revealed at some point in February.

To plug the gap, there’s a disc release with nine different productions included still available. You can find that here.
