Disney confirms that Artemis Fowl will be arriving on the Disney+ streaming service on June 12th, and releases a new trailer.
After being delayed from its original release back in August 2019, Kenneth Branagh’s movie of Eoin Colfer’s Artemis Fowl was earlier this month pulled from the cinema schedules altogether. It had been due for release in May, but the closure of cinemas around the world made that incredibly unlikely.
Instead, Disney has decided to debut the film on its new streaming service. And now we know when: Artemis Fowl will debut on Disney+ on June 12th 2020.
The film stars Ferdia Shaw, Lara McDonnell, Colin Farrell, Josh Gad and Judi Dench. And a brand new promo has been release to announce the release date for the movie. It looks like this.
A statement from Branagh was released alongside the date announcement. It reads:
“Artemis Fowl is a true original. In challenging times, a twelve year old criminal mastermind is one heck of a travelling companion. Smart, funny, and cool as mustard, he’ll take you to new worlds, meet unforgettable characters, and mix magic with mayhem. His own family is everything to him, and (although he’d never admit it), he’d be as proud as I am that families around the world will now be able to enjoy his first amazing screen adventures together, on Disney+”
More on the film as we hear it.
