A £25 advent calendar will come with 12 movie digital downloads in it.
With a strong caveat or two that I’m coming to shortly, this seems like a nice idea. Sony Pictures is issuing a special advent calendar, that goes on sale from the end of October. In it will be codes for, er, 12 films that will be available for digital download. We’ll gloss over the bit where you have to explain to the kids where the other 12 doors have gone and crack on.
Behind each door, then, a digital download code will be revealed that’ll allow you to download and keep a movie each time. On the upside, there are movies such as Matilda, Jumanji, the genuinely underrated Smurfs: The Lost Village, Oliver and Arthur Christmas.
Then, presumably reserved for the days where the kids have been little shits, you can punish them with the genuine terror of The Emoji Movie and the WTFisthis of Peter Rabbit.
The calendar sells for £25, and will be available from retailers and online stores. Other films included are Men In Black, Hotel Transylvania, Stuart Little and the recent Annie.
Note that you’ll need to redeem all codes using Rakuten, and then you should be able to watch the films on the device of your choice.
