A delightful British documentary is heading to cinemas in November, and it’s a treat for film lovers: meet A Bunch Of Amateurs.
Here’s a film for a documentary we’ve had the pleasure of seeing, and heartily commend to you. A Bunch Of Amateurs, from director Kim Hopkins, tells the story of an amateuring filmmaking club in Bradford, that’s been running for decades.
Once commonplace, such clubs have gradually been dying out, and A Bunch Of Amateurs follows the squabbles, camaraderie, lives, tea-drinking and love for film from the Bradford club’s members. From an AGM where the accounts are laid very, very bare to an attempted remake of a film sequence I won’t spoil here, it’s a very funny, very moving and very human story.
The film is coming to cinemas on November 11th, and you can get a taste of it here. But please, please seek this one out. It’s really rather special.
