A Quiet Place 2 and Top Gun: Maverick are now set to arrive a year later than originally planned, as Paramount announces a release date shuffle. Paramount Pictures has become the latest studio to rearrange its release schedule once again, in the light of cinemas struggling to reopen. In America in particular, a fresh spike of Covid-19 has led to multiplexes in many states keeping their doors closed, and here in the UK, it’s understandably taking time for things to find a new normal. With question marks over how many of us will go to the cinema even when they are open, Paramount has now announced that A Quiet Place 2 will now no longer be with us on September 4th. It’s moved to April 23rd 2021, over a year later than its originally planned release date. The same applies to Top Gun: Maverick, that had been due this summer, then December 2020. It now won’t arrive until July 2nd 2021. Separately, the studio has also pushed the next Jackass film until September 3rd 2021, and confirmed that Sonic 2 will be with us on April 8th 2022.
