Rumble Through The Dark, based on the novel The Fighter, has nabbed Aaron Eckhart for the lead role.
Aaron Eckhart (Thank You for Smoking, The Dark Knight) will star in Rumble Through the Dark. Set in the dark landscape of the Mississippi Delta, a former bare-knuckle fighter (Eckhart) must win one last fight to pay off his debts to the local mob boss and save his childhood home—the stakes nothing less than life or death.
The film will be directed by Graham & Parker Phillips (The Bygone). Production for the film is due to begin at the end of July in Natchez, Mississippi. Michael Farris Smith has penned the screenplay based on his novel The Fighter.
Directors Graham and Parker Phillips said: “We are thrilled to be making this film with Aaron [ā¦] For us, this story is about the love between a mother and a son, and the lengths one will go to find redemption. We can’t think of anyone better positioned to portray the role of the fighter than Aaron.”
Eckhart was last seen in Wander, released earlier this year.
