You can buy Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis on shiny, crispy clear 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in March. Details below.

If you missed Francis Ford Coppola’s passion project in cinemas, you can buy it on physical media in no time. Megalopolis is coming to 4K UltraHD Blu-ray, regular Blu-ray and DVD on 9th March.

The film, which defies easy description, stars Adam Driver, Aubrey Plaza, Giancarlo Esposito, Shia LaBeouf and a whole lot of other Hollywood royalty. Megalopolis is set in an alternative 21st Century New York, dubbed New Rome, where Driver’s architect, Cesar Catalina, wants to bring his futuristic vision of the city to life.

Hereā€™s an official synopsis that describes the film much better:

Megalopolis is a Roman Epic fable set in an imagined Modern America. The City of New Rome must change, causing conflict between Cesar Catilina (Adam Driver), a genius artist who seeks to leap into a utopian, idealistic future, and his opposition, Mayor Franklyn Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito), who remains committed to a regressive status quo, perpetuating greed, special interests, and partisan warfare. Torn between them is socialite Julia Cicero (Nathalie Emmanuel), the mayor’s daughter, whose love for Cesar has divided her loyalties, forcing her to discover what she truly believes humanity deserves.

You can pre-order Megalopolis here if you so wish.

The Amazon listing doesn’t detail many extras, but does mention that there are featurettes on the Blu-ray release and a “select scene” audio commentary by Coppola, who spent decades trying to make Megalopolis, sinking $120 million of his own money into the project.
